This weekend is GlassWeekend at WheatonArts & Cultural Center in Millville.  The Creative Glass Center of America at WheatonArts is opening its doors to the public for a weekend full of exhibits, hands-on glassmaking, demonstrations by artists from around the world, and much more.  Christopher Benincasa talks with Pamela Weichmann of WheatonArts about this international celebration of contemporary glass art.

Christopher Benincasa is an award-winning producer of arts and culture programming, and a founding member of PCK Media. He’s won six regional Emmy Awards (Mid-Atlantic and New York) for his work on the series State of the Arts, plus a CINE Golden Eagle Award. Most recently, he produced stories about Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Stephen Dunn, silversmith and MacArthur Genius Award-winner Ubaldo Vitali, and gypsy jazz guitarist Stephane Wremble. A graduate of the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, Christopher has a BFA in Visual Art and a minor in Religion.

    This is fantastic. Is there anywhere more information about making & creating traditional glass art ?

    Making of glass sculptures, tutorials, e-books, artwork ? I am looking for any good resource teaching the fundamentals about glass art.

    Maybe we can see some images posted of the artwork, and maybe it’s also possible to introduce some artists from the exhibit !
